MORE THAN JUST AN OFFICE
In the heart of the Noblessner quarter, a seaside industrial building, protected as heritage, accommodates a pleasantly modern working environment.
Defendec is a tech company operating chiefly in the areas of border protection, critical infrastructures and oil industry, 98 percent of its production being destined for foreign markets. A modern company will also need a structurally modern environment.
That was exactly the potential offered by the former warehouse belonging to the historical shipyard complex in the Noblessner quarter. The warehouse, built in 1914, was used for storing materials for the shipyard.
The high space under the roof of the historical building contains mainly open office areas, parts of which have been sectioned off by house façades so to say. This has been done to provide for privacy and soundproofing in rooms like the kitchen, toilets and conference rooms.
The space between the ‘houses’ has been designed using street elements like trees and lamp posts. The smaller house-shaped volume in the middle of the open space accommodates conference rooms and ascending to the roof are stepped terraces for sitting and relaxing, listening to presentations and watching films.
In addition to elementary working conditions, these modern offices offer ambience, smart solutions and playfulness. There is a phone booth, a games area and a film and seminar room that also serves as a lounge.
The offices provide good vibes for the employees and a positive impression for clients and partners.
